I know this question keeps coming up, but have yet to figure out how to get audio out of my computer.
I am sure the guy who built it was getting audio via HDMI cable.
But do you think I can get audio out of the green socket on the back of the computer!
Volume Mixer shows audio at speakers and at media player. Nothing in Realtek HD Audio Manager.
I have read so much and tried for what seems like ages to make this happen.
Played with windows sound setting from control panel. Tried all sorts of things in Realtek. Not a squeak.
What is worse I picked up my other computer that we have just updated to win7 64bit as well. And this has the same issue from what I can see. And I did ask about the audio. And he said something about changing a setting as this one will also be HDMI set. For the life of me I cannot find where to change this, if that is what I have to do.
Now my system
Win7 Home Premium 64bit.
MB Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
AMD FX8350 8 core
EVGA GTX660Ti
8Gig HyperX DDR3

Any help would be super. I can get mate to have another look and make some changes, as I am sure he can sort. But thought I would ask here and see.

The "default" playback device is set in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound Panel, Playback section. In most cases, if there is an HDMI cable attached Windows will automatically default to the HDMI for sound. In those cases you need to manually set the "Speakers" (PC sound card) as the default playback device.
