I am hearing nothing but pops and clicks in my audio. I have looked all ove this forum, found some solutions, installed all of the latest Realtek audio drivers, un-installed, re-installed, rebooted, updated BIOS and all that, and nothing has been working. Any ideas? Also, I can't seem to get Windows to install the latest Realtec AC'97 codecs. My computer keeps telling me that the vendor is unidentified, and when I try to force install, the installer just asks me the same question over and over again. Thanks all!:)

From the website of Gigabyte, we can tell the specifications of your mobo:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ClassValue=Motherboard&ProductID=3003&ProductName=GA-MA790GP-UD4H

OK,
1. The audio compenent of the Gigabyte MA790GP-UD4H (rev.1.0) is the ALC889a.
We should install the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver but not the
Realtec AC'97 Driver to enable your ALC889a work.
You can refer this to the Gigabyte's download center for your mobo:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=3003&ost=others#anchor_os

2. The newest Realtek HD Driver is v. 2.26, you can download it from the official site of the Realtek:
http://www.realtek.com/Default.aspx?Langid=1
(You are advised to google a better place to download, every time when
the Realtek releases a new driver, their officila site shoud be just paralyzed.......)

3. I downloaded the manual of your mobo, and from page 88 to 95, there is some explanation of the configuration for the sound system of your mobo.

The above is just my imagination, perhaps it helps not, but I believe you will find the answer soon enough here in Windows 7 Forum!! :geek: Good luck.

Sound still crackling.

I tried everything you suggested, even looked and tried some things through the manual, and the sound is still crackling. I was using an RCA jack into my sound system at one pont, but after still getting the crackling, I thought using a S/PDIF digital cable into my sound system would work, but there is no change. Mind you, I was having no sound problems whatsoever before I upgraded to Windows 7. Any further suggestions? Thanks for your time.
