I dunno what to say Gary, did you disable a lot of the post screens etc from the bios? Like the fullscreen logo one? That saves a bit of time.

This is the slowest of my last 3 boards, the Asrock was the fastest, I had 14 seconds on that and 17 the second time I installed on it, my Sabertooth was around 20 seconds. I can't remember how quick my Sandy P8 P67 EVO was but I am pretty sure that was quick too.

Yup, I disabled the POST screen and all of the optional boot from LAN, etc. options too. What's odd the Sandy has a HDD with my Users folder and AppData on it, while the Ivy is a SSD only for testing with very few programs installed.

I have Sleep and Hibernation disabled on both. When I first set up the Ivy (i7-3770K) it would get 23-26 seconds.

I am just wandering if you do something different to everyone else every time you set up a new rig/install windows. Like a little thing you think is best? I dunno mate, I really don't. You have decent SSD's, there is no reason your rigs should take 45-50 seconds, Maybe because you have them on the bench for 2 years to make sure they work before putting them into a case they get angry at you lol.

You may be right about something I do each time because "I know best", it's not unheard of. I'll have to watch each time I install something/do tweaks.

Im in the same boat Gary. I used to get 20 seconds. I just did a fresh install, now its 45 seconds

The best time I have had with this board is 30 seconds. But, it seems to all be in the bios. If you time it from the 'starting Windows' screen to the desktop it's 8 seconds.

OK, I lied. I just did it again. It used to be 8 seconds, it's 11 seconds now. But, I'll take that.

It was a hard drive causing my slow boots. Will go and disable some start up things to improve after I see if I can save the hard drive.

Is there a test for Shut Down time? That's where I think I have a problem, have for quite some time now but was really slow when I re-started a bit ago after doing today's patch for IE9.

Very nice! I just knew it was gonna be an Asrock board before I looked at your specs. Asrock are real fast for booting with a SSD.

Great time. My older Asrock board got 21 second reboot times. It takes this Asus board longer than that to POST. Very well done.

sorry but it is not a asrock board i just did not change my system info .
it is a gigabyte f2a88x-up4 it a fm2+board.
but my asrock still do 24 secs i run 3 computers right now
