16 sec isn't bad for any computer.

You can strip down the startup programs and services, if you need a faster boot time.

I keep everything running, with a couple of exceptions, speed is nice but functionality is better, for me anyway.

Specs, settings, motherboard, BIOS brand and version, all have a lot to do with boot time.

Compare your boot time with others that have similar specs.

Depending on your specs, for some around 30 seconds is very good, on other systems 45 seconds is very good.

If the specs are posted, someone might be able to give some recommendations on how to improve boot time.

I liek milk.

ASUS is the BOMB!
So, I reloaded Windows 7 64-bit to my work desktop today and throught for curiosity sake that I would run bootracer after the install to see what type of startup time I got.

I'm running this on an Asus P5QL Pro mobo, with an Intel Core 2 Duo 86400 cpu, with a 500GB 7,200RPM Western Digital Caviar Blue hard drive. I thought this was pretty darn respectable for a $500 box without anything fancy or an SSD.
