I did upgrade from 7100 to 7127 and few tweaks here and there.

I am happy the way 7127 runs smooth, snappy and stable.

anyway, here's the time on my Inspiron 1505 with Intel Duo T2300 at 1.7Ghz and 2.5GB ram; not bad for an old laptop
actually also not quiet good, try vlite and your reboot will drop to 30sec i am sure.
i got 34sec with a pentium m singlecore.

A software app that allows you to strip parts of an OS in order to make it customizable, smaller, etc.

Or for example, you can slip-stream new OS updates into the OS installer.
