ReBoot Time

No, not at all. I was comparing a fresh install of Vista to that of 7. Vista = very long bootup. 7 = incredibly fast bootup.


OOH, I'm so used to hearing I didn't even notice it :-P

I get about the same startup speed on Vista no matter how much stuff I have installed. As long as I don't have many programs on startup like AIM, Windows Live Messenger etc.

after reinstall and moving hdd's around, my new restart time: 65 seconds (98 before) - pretty good improvement

I don't really care for boot time so much, as my pc is always on :D I hate when windows update postpones to reboot, luckily can kill its process from Taskmanager :p

aaah :shock: You're right, it starts by itself again. Wasn't like that in Vista. Because I hided some Office updates, now the icon sits all the time in my tray and tells me there are new updates! :mad:

I've been very pleasantly surprised by the reboot times in all versions of Win 7. :) I vista it's closer to 3 minutes.
