Here's my Pentium4 550 ~ 3.5 gHz HT. There's a slight disadvantage from a boot selection screen because of my triple boot.

Very cool! I'm not one to care how fast or not my pc boots. I always have excellent system uptimes, except when I purposely reboot to mess around in the other OSes because I'm bored.

What I'm impressed here with is thinking how quickly the drive is working under normal usage based upon it's ability to boot this quick.

No pagefile and SSD. Never heard of this program or even anyone who counted that but it's a neat idea! I'm going to tweak a bit and see if I can't get it lower. I had a DVD in the drive, I think that might take a few seconds..

That's what i thought, i bet this could beat it. PCI-E SSD Does 1000 MB/sec. - Tom's Hardware

I think I just did.

I took the DVD out of the drive and unplugged my external USB drive. I haven't tuned this at all but I suppose I'll have to try now. Good idea making the video.. I may have to do that! Oh, I'll try the nogui switch too.

Maybe you didn't notice this (OCZ Vertex on XPS 420) from 3 weeks ago since it's only a thumbnail....

After some tuning (this was fun) I managed to get this;

This might be cheating but I disabled the logo on the BIOS bootup, it shaved 1-2 seconds. I can't imagine anything I could do to improve on this but after an hour or two of tinkering, this seems to be the best I can do. Maybe if I disabled the gui boot, hmm..

Since I have 11x drives installed it would (theorhetically) be faster if BIOS didn't have to detect all the drives. But I'm not disconnecting all of that heh. I did take the DVD out of the drive and unplug the USB external drive. Otherwise, everything is set to normal. I don't use a pagefile so I'm sure that is a major factor, especially shutting down. Cheers.

reboot time i got is 95 secs with just after fresh installation!!!

it depends on mobo too just because it s displaying hell a lot before startup!!!
