Receiving channel on one user profile but not on my user profile?

When watching TV on media center on my user profile I can't pick up southern cross Ten in Cairns Qld Australia, yet when my daughter logs on to her user profile she can receive the exact same channel!

Has anyone got any idea of how to solve this one? Ive done another scan for new channels but with no luck. Windows 7 home premium 64bit/ Tuner AVerMedia H57 Hybrid Analog DVB/T

Hi Pete and welcome to W7 Forums

I'm assuming that we are talking about the same computer here. That eliminates hardware, network and, if using an aerial, antenna problems. It is probably something to do with your profile. Are either of you logging in as Administrators? If you are both Standard account users, try creating a new account for yourself and see if that helps. You state that your daughter has no problems, so ask her to log in and then copy down all the settings that she has for Media Center and the AverMedia device and then compare them with those on your original and new accounts. It could well be that there is some difference there. Alternatively, it could be a firewall issue, particularly if you are both using slightly different settings.
