Reddish colour in the taskbar

Actually using Aero has less issues with hanging then Aero Basic. I suggest you use it. Aero Basic and Classic both run directly on the CPU and System RAM. However, Aero runs on the GPU and and Video RAM (On the graphics' card).

Why anyone would want to use the sickly blue aero basic is beyond me.

Actually I think the icons on the task bar do that whenever they are busy... ie. doing something ...mine do it too... but only when the page is loading or active some how same goes when something is downloading or installing Not sure if it has to do with your settings or not but mine does this when ever the icon involved is working...

Mine is the same.
I'm using red border outline in Aero so the blue e is surrounded in almost pink.
Change the Aero Window color and the open taskbar colors change also.

Go to Control Panel> Personalization> Window color (at bottom center-right on page).
Try the dark blue Window color. Active is grey/blue as circled in right Snip.
Then click Save Changes.


No more red.
