Reformatting a drive

For the third time, have you made your Recovery Disks? You were urged to do this before deleting the Factory Recovery partition D. If you didn't then it's too late.

Since it's Lenovo the OEM partition is useless without the Recovery partition. You can delete it using the steps I gave you earlier. Then you can make a new storage partition in the space from both of those deleted partitions.

You were asked important questions which you ignored before merrily going on your way to delete the Recovery partition, not even bothering to interact with us about them. It's a little late now. I don't know why you asked for our help in the first place.

Though I don't know where it's being stored. Wait, I think I just have to check again. As to the steps you gave earlier, I'll admit it's kind of difficult to follow. Did you make a partition in the space where the Recovery partition was deleted? Did you run Backup to store a backup image there? It should have asked you where you wanted to store it - were you paying attention?

Look in the partition in Computer. Is the backup folder there?

Did you run Backup to store a backup image there? It should have asked you where you wanted to store it - were you paying attention? (Currently, reading something on managing disc space. It's currently set to Drive D. I'm not sure where to put the Back up. But based on what you guys are saying...

No, there is no need to make a new partition there if you didnt' delete Recovery. I said that deleting Recovery was not necessary unless it won't run. But we were waiting hours ago to see requested screenshots of its contents so we could help you delete the files that aren't supposed to be there, and you posted back you'd deleted it.

Now you say you didn't delete it, that you deleted the backup out of it, but you're running another backup which is also writing to D? What kind of nonsense is this?

In summary:

Nothing except Lenovo Factory Recovery should be in D. Once Recovery is cleaned out make your Recovery media to see if it still works and have a backup of the Factory Recovery. How do I recover my system using ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery

If it won't generate Recovery media then it probably won't run, but you can try to queue it up from Win7 or from boot to test this following steps in tutorial above. If it won't run or boot then you can delete it as well as the OEM partition at the end of the HD which steps I gave you earlier.

If you are going to use Win7 backup, you must store it externally to an external or another HD, another PC on the network, or use another method such as http://www.sevenforums.com/backup-r...re-your-files-cloud-skydrive.html#post2269172. Only if the Recovery partition won't run will there be space there to make a partition to store your backup.

Hi Doc. You remember six hours ago when you asked for the screenshot so we could sort D for him? I do. He said he'd deleted Recovery.

Now he says he didn't, cleaned out backups in D but is saving another backup to it. Go figure.

Can you take us back in time to pretend this never happened?

There are three threads like this going right now. I'm beginning to suspect it's the Jerky Boys. But it might be the full moon.

(I think my computer is set to run scheduled backups. I had just deleted the files when a message from the action center came up. And now it's telling me that it can't finish due to lack of disc space. So am reading about Managing disc space. So, forgive me for asking again. Where should I store my back up?)
