Hi Guys,
I have problem in my registry :cry:
that any modifications I write to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER] doesn't take affect.
Only changes I write to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT] takes affect.

For example:
If I want to add context menu to "exe file type"
changes to add to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\exefile]
do NOT appear in the context menu.
Only changes to write to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile]
appears in the right click

I tried everything.
Restart, restore.. still doesnt work.
and the same problem with any other profile in my PC.

Any HELP?

I use Resplendence's Registrar Registry Manager. I think the trial version might be enough to get the job done. Along with current full images of the OS partitions, I think even having a System Restore Point or two might be all you need if something goes wrong.

What are the full keys and values you are trying to change? Can you share a reg file of the failed and successful changes?

It is a symbolic link

No, both are separate keys, one per-user, the other computer global. The per-user location can override the global one, that's why they're separate.
