Hello.

Got that issues since few days. System restarting itself. I have checked windows logs and found that RPC is doing that for some reason. So i have tried to change the options in Remote Procedure Call in control panel. But all the options are grayed and and i can't do that, even when im administrator.

I remember i did that in Win Xp and Vista but cant do it on Win 7 x32. I wanted to change option, so he doing nothing if he find any issues. Restarting system is so annoying.

Any advice is appreciated.

Have you run your anti-virus/anti-spyware programs?

Does it happen after a minutes after logon? Or random after a few hours?

After few hours. I should be able to change that RPC option, same as was in Xp / Vista. Microsoft tech said, that it should be changeable if i am logged as administrator. Not sure whats wrong.

It's not possible to change it! Not even when logged in as built-in admin account.
But can be changed if editting the registry (I don't tell you how). RPC is a crucial component so shouldn't fail at all!

What is logged in eventlog about this error?

But it was possible in Xp and Vista to change something like "Do not take any action" instead restart. It isn't some crucial option in my opinion.

No issues after
sfc /scannow

goto services->remote procedure call and check its settings. tab dependecies. Look in lower part of window. So may many services are dependend of RPC!
If RPC crashes all these services fail as well... your win7 is useless afterwards!

Tip: look in eventlog what failure causes it

But i dont want to turn RPC off, just change action if anything ever goes "bad", so he dont restart the system thats all.

What action do you want instead? "nothing": this leaves your system with a not running RPC service. Lots of things will fail!

"restart service": Then hopefully RPC runs fine. But ALL depend services still AREN'T running! Lots of things will fail!

Please believe me.... shutdown is the only right thing to do.

Once again... what's in eventlog about this error?

Is this what you're looking for?

Disable the Automatic Restart to prevent the restarts on system failure:
Click on start > Right click on Computer
Click on Properties
In System Properties Window> Click on Advanced system settings
Click on Advanced tab
Uncheck the option: Automatically restart
