I have a PC running Windows Pro. I remote into it via a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I am currently testing the remoting by watching the screen of the monitor attached to the target PC while I remote in via the laptop.

I notice the followins:

1) When I remote in via the latptop, the target PC logs out of its current acccount (i.e. the password prompt screen pops up on the target computer as if I logged out of it).

2) When I remote in, it almost looks as though I am remoting in SAFE mode. That is the resolution is different AND I do not see the standa-lone graphics card in the Application tray (i.e. I only see the onboard graphics card icon)

QUESTIONS:
1) Can you remote in without logging the current user out?
2) Can you remote into the actual mode the computer is in

Thanks

What I really want is the abililty to remote-in, and not have the existing user to have to enter a password to log back in. I am remoting from a laptp ot my HTPC. My HTPC feeds my home theater and other rooms. I currently can't control my HTPC as it is in the basement. Looking to minimize running up and down the stairs after I remote into the HTPC to restart the HTPC (i.e. I have go down and re-enter password).

I already have Win 7 set up on the HTPC to not prompt for passwords. This works on a start-up. However this after a remote session from my laptop the HTPC is still prompted for a password.

Thanks

If you enable concurrent sessions, using the link I provided, then you can log in and the existing user will not be logged out.
