Solved Remove items from list in Hidden Icons

If I click on Show hidden icons in the notification tray and then click Customize I see a list of programs. Some of the programs have been deleted but they are still listed. Is there some way of deleting them?

I have tried deleting IconStreams and PastIconsStreams and that didn't work. Maybe I didn't do it right?

Double check using the tutorial below to see if you did the same to reset the notification area icons.

I'm not certain what you mean by the programs were deleted. Were the programs properly uninstalled?

CCleaner provides an option for cleaning the leftover icons, see image below.

I'm sorry. I screwed up posting this question. Apparently I am working on too many computers and got confused. After rechecking that particular computer I don't find any undesired programs listed.

@Brink,
The programs were properly removed using RevoUninstaller or were not on its list to be removed and had to be removed manually. They were of the obnoxious type--in fact two .dlls cannot be removed from Program Files because they say the files or folders are in use when I know for a fact they are not.

Thanks for pointing that out. Of the hundreds of times I have used CCleaner I never noticed that capability. I'll pay attention next time.

Yeah, the option in CCleaner basically does the same thing in the tutorial.
