Solved Remove items from right click menu

Just wondering if it is possible to edit the right-click menu to remove an item--in this case "Inspect Element (Q)" which I never use.

No offense to you BrightBlessings but those are some worthless programs for what I want to do.

Anyone who goes to this link be careful as you might end up with a bunch of crapware. Fortunately I created a restore point and was able to get rid of it.

I thought for sure the registry edit would have worked but there was no reference to Inspect Element.

That's weird because I get no crapware of any kind when I visit this website.

To my understanding, you want to remove items from the right click menu(context menu). Correct? And this is a way to do it. So please, even though you say "no offense" doesn't mean you won't offend someone. Let's try and be respectful to the people who are trying to help you.

How to remove it

I take it that you're using a Firefox based browser.

Just type about:config in the address bar and press Enter

Type inspector into the search box and double click on devtools.inspector.enabled to set it to false.

I don't know what issue you encountered when visiting the site, but there was nothing nefarious when I visited it. If you followed the instructions for removing items from the context menu using the "regedit" example at the site, it is not the only location for context menu items. Run "regedit" and use the "Find" function with the search criteria Inspect Element. If you find more than one entry and are unsure how to proceed, post back with the locations to get further help.

Always backup the registry before editing!

I have been misunderstood. It was not the web site listed which was the problem. It was one of the programs listed which when downloaded put PUPs on my computer.

BrightBlessings had nothing to do with the programs on the site so when I say no offense I mean it because I wanted to be respectful to him. I don't blame him for them and I appreciate that he responded to my request.
