Options missing from right click context menu on Windows 7 ultimate

OS is Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. Following some system file corruption, It was reinstalled about a week ago. Since then tons of updates downloaded automatically (as recommended by MS).

It started from yesterday that my context menu options under "right click\new" has become limited to just "folder" in all "drive volume/partitions" i.e. drives D: ,E: ,F: , etc. and not in just C: where it is actually correct by default to show just the "folder".

So, I'd appreciate if you could advice how to restore the list of options under "right click\new" to the other drive partitions

I have thried the turotial you suggested. It did not work.

Note that the right click/"new" options work ok on all other pages, desktop, personal , library and within individual folders etc. EXCEPT the Drive Volume/partitions i.e. D: , E: , F: . When I open /go into these drive page(s) and right click to new....nothing but "folder". This is the problem. this was not there before. So, I want to bring back the default "New" option list like before to all the drive pages (other than C
Please help.

Did you read through the thread? There are several other downloads for various New options suggested in response to user questions in the thread.

Yes I have and checked out all the options there. None fit my requirement exactly.I tried anyway, downloading zip file containing the reg editor - restore_new.reg on desktop. applied the fix as per the instruction. nothing. Like I have explained before. for most part the "new" options are ok. it is not functioning on certain drive pages only . it even works ok within the folders in those drives. It looks like a " halfway stuck" problem. Maybe it has something to do with the drives or maybe Microsoft just decided to make "new" behave as the primary drive C:, i.e. New > folder (only). I don't know. hoping you could help.

Generally this thread seems to have a lot of info. I haven't made many changes to New menu myself. Mostly just creating template files for .txt and .ahk files.

The solution I need seems to be a unique one. I want the "New" options restored on drives D , E , F . The solution I have seen or tried thus far does not seem to address my issue.The offered solutions are meant to restore "new" options in general to default drives / pages. I need to include the other drives as default locations for the "new" options to show. I can work on registry, but need the exact key/value at the right location of registry hive. I hope someone would understand and able to help.

OK,Somebody finally came up with the exact solution. To check and see how user privileges are configured for those affected drives.
And yes, user privs were certainly messed up ! Made corrections and Bingo, everything back to normal. So, my particular issue had nothing to do with the registry.
