Remove Programs from user start menu

Hello, can anybody tell me how to delete program entries from a specific user start menu?

PC's have multiple user accounts, for designers and administrators within the business. Designers do not need access to Sage Accounts so I want to remove it from their start menus and administrators do not need access to dreamweaver and thus I want to remove it from their start menu.

When I right click on the item in a user start menu, it deletes the item from all user users start menu!

How can I overcome this problem?

If I understand correctly, you can right click and pin to start menu. Once pinned it should be there for individual accounts and not be changed.

Bottom line, pin it to start menus that you want.

This is actually quite straightforward. What you need to do is to remove the shortcuts from the Start Menu Shared by All Users (SMSbAU) and move them to the appropriate User Start Menu (USM).

Start Menu Shared by All Users

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

User Start Menu (<UserName> = account name)

C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

With both open on the screen, simply right-click the shortcuts that you want to move from the SMSbAU window and select Cut. Now, right-click on the USM window and select Paste. Repeat until all shortcuts are in the correct place. You will need to do this for each class of user, so that each has access only to the programs that they require. If there are more than one user for each class, and each has their own account, then you will also need to do the following.

Open two USM windows, one of which is the one you had open above and the other being one belonging to a user of the same class. Next, right-click one of the shortcuts on the first window and select Copy. Now, right-click on the other window and select Paste. Repeat this for all shortcuts, and for all users of that class.
