Removing easylifeapp?

I'm pretty sure that easylifeapp is malware. Is there someway to remove it using MSE?

Download AdWareCleaner AdwCleaner Download to your desktop
1.Right-click on adwcleaner.exe and select Run As Administrator to launch the application.
2.Click on Delete button.
3.Confirm each time with OK.
4.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile in your reply.
Note: You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[Sn].txt as well - n is the order number.

Next, download DDS from one of these links:

DDS.pif

• Disable any script blocking protection
• Double click the dds icon to run the tool.
• When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  1. DDS.txt
  2. Attach.txt <--- will be minimized in the task tray
• Save both reports to your desktop.

Include the contents of both logs in your next post.

[FONT=&quot]When I tried to open AdWCleaner, I was asked to install Zip Open. After dodging offers to get by several apps, the download never happened. Along the way, I acquired Norton, which I do not want, but will be deleted soon. I tried again, and ended at <http://www.thenewzipopenerfun.com/gb/welcome/?sr=ga&lp=sa&tschnl=V4&mn=true&c=1>, and <http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/>, which is baffling. I have now Zip Open and Zip Open 79 installed. Presumably 79 is not needed. I'm stuck. Never got to step 2. [/FONT]

solarblast, you're getting re-directed because of the adware. Delete those downloads!.. let's flush the DNS cache, and restore MS's Hosts file:

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.

Save as flush.bat to your desktop. Right click to run as Administrator, your computer will reboot itself.

Next, download TFC by Old Timer TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums and save it to your desktop.
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista/Windows 7 right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

Now, make sure that proxy settings are disabled
1) Under “Tools” in the browser tool bar select “Internet Options”.
2) In the “Internet Options” window that pops up, click the “Connections” tab at the top.
3) Click “LAN Settings” near the bottom of the “Connections” section.
4) If the “Proxy server” checkbox is marked with a check, click it to deselect/uncheck it.
5) Click “Ok” to close the “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” window.
6) Click “Ok” to close the “Internet Options” window.
(Reboot only if proxy server was checked)
Make sure "Proxy server" is still disabled under your LAN Settings.

Now, see if you can download the correct AdwCleaner from AdwCleaner Download and follow the instructions above to run it.

I am unable to uninstall Zip Opener and Zip Opener 79 from Program and Features. When I first attempted from Prog&Feat, I got an Uninstall Mgr dialog with three choices: Remove AVG, and two seemingly relevant to Zip. They signaled they were uninstalled. If I try either of them, I get the same dialog, but the three are not shown. I had to really wrestle with AVG (Search?) before it disappeared from Prog&Feat. The dialog does have a check box: Remove this manager from Add/Remove programs. I have no idea if that's useful. Well, I checked it and finally the two Zip program went away.

OK, I executed the bat file successfully.
I should mention that I'm using FFox. I'm a little leery about using TFC. Particularly I do not want to eliminate my bookmark history file. I do have CCleaner, and it is set to retain a number of items. For example, it REmoves IE temp files, System temp files. It saves FF cookies, download history internet cache, and Internet history. So I would like to use CCleaner instead.

Regarding Proxy settings, I'm not familiar with them in FF, so it looks like IE would do it, correct? I'm looking at IE now, but don't see Tools. For reference, I see Translate, Dictionary, and Check Text up at the top.

TFC (Temp File Cleaner) will clear out all temp folders for all user accounts (temp, IE temp, java, FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari), including Administrator, All Users, LocalService, NetworkService, and any other accounts in the user folder. It also cleans out the %systemroot%\temp folder and checks for .tmp files in the %systemdrive% root folder, %systemroot%, and the system32 folder (both 32bit and 64bit on 64bit OSs). It shows the amount removed for each location found (in bytes) and the total removed (in MB). Before running, it will stop Explorer and all other running apps. When finished, if a reboot is required the user must reboot to finish clearing any in-use temp files.
TFC only cleans temp folders. TFC will not clean URL history, prefetch, or cookies. Depending on how often someone cleans their temp folders, their system hardware, and how many accounts are present, it can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or more. TFC will completely clear all temp files where other temp file cleaners may fail. TFC requires a reboot immediately after running. Be sure to save any unsaved work before running TFC.

What don't you understand about making sure that "Proxy Server" is not checked?

The proxy question ? Jacee was telling you how to make sure the proxy isn't enabled . Home PCs don't really need to have a proxy setup .

In the Internet Options window click the Connections tab
Click LAN Settings near the bottom of the Connections section.
If the Proxy server checkbox is marked with a check, click it to uncheck it.

Click Ok to close the Internet Options window.
