hi guys

as you know theres some problem in microsoft's update , that causes it

download the updates temp to the bigger sized parrtioned , instead of to the temp folder...

in my case i had my external HD connected to the system when windows upadte was running...

after the windows update completed i saw few new folders with starnge names like:
trbz6hz7bz5hz7hz6z

also i noticed there's a sign of a lock on them , and when i tried to remove them i could do that....

i assume you know how to that , right?

also do you know how i can prevent it from happeing again??

*if i connect the drive to windows XP system , the files can be delted

noooo......

i am saying that after windows update , some folders with temprory letteres & numbers apeared in my exeternal HD , when i opened them i saw they were used as

temp install files like : microsoft malawre removal tool, .net frmaework, visual studio runtime.. etc....... that were updated in my windows.....

no the problem is i can remove this folders , because they are marked with a sign of lock on them, and when i try to remove windows wont allow.. saying something protected file....

anyway when i connnect the exeternal HD to windows XP , its removable/changeable like any other folder..

i am pretty sure temp files can be removed (can someone confirm ); can u perhaps take ownership of the folders and granting yourself full access ...logged in as admin? unsure why they are on your external hd.

What else is on your external drive. Your Windows update should of went to what ever drive you have Windows 7 installed. Can you use cmd. prompt/admin and run sfc /scannow?
Are those same files on your drive which Windows 7 is located?

i did little research on this , and found its kind of microsoft's temproary files deploying bug, and its pretty common on some users systems...

it appears that the windows update "throw" the files on the biggest free capacity drive that connected at the time of updating...

yes those folders also apeares on my data paratition (sam HD as the OS, but another partition)
