Old system folders in WIndows 7

I have Document and settings in C:\ and My Pictures, My music, etc in My documents folder. Is it safe to delete them or use as the document folder?

It is not recommended to delete Document and settings in C:\ because doing so will result in loss of compatibility with older programs that were designed to run on windows xp.

You should use C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents to store your documents.
