Repair problem - how can I tell if my Windows 7 Pro CD has SP1 on it?

I need to do a repair on my OS which shows as having SP1 installed. It does NOT show if the SP1 was an instal from the CD or from an update. Problem is I have researched the way to do a repair and am more confused than ever. It would seem that if the original instal was from a CD without SP1 then I am unable to use the CD for a repair. Conversely I am unable to use a CD with SP1 [slipstreamed?] on it to do the repair. I have been around various sites many of which are out of date and none of which had a definitive answer or had files deleted [by MS?]. I realise that this problem has been posted before but have not been able to find a clear answer by searching. Without being aware of the contents of the CD [insofar as SP1 is concerned] I am not able to proceed.
I originally used an update CD from XP/Vista 32bit. Later updated from 32 to 64 bit with same CD set.
Help.

I was attempting to do both but not together. Since the first failed I tried the second. Now I have been trying to download the system recovery file from MS - when their site is working which is rarely - and although I bought my disks in 2009, installed the 32 bit in English, updated to 64 bit again in English, MS will not allow me to d/l the iso file as, it says, the copy of windows which I have ".......is not valid for English, choose another language...." and won't let me get any further. So it looks as if I will have to do a complete re-install with these disks and just hope that works. I really think MS stinks.
Most of today all I got when trying any links was the word Continue in the tab and then zilch. Go figure. MS seems to work on the basis of if it don't work [you] fix it.
If I seem slow in responding it is because I do not use the net every day.

That error is happening for a lot of us trying the new MS Software center system. Look at some of the other options to obtain the installation media for your version in Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

If you do reinstall with the older installer, be sure to follow the steps in the tutorial to get all Windows Updates including drivers, as it sequences many updates contained in SP1 before actually giving you the SP1 wrapper which may be small as a result. The rest of the steps will also assure you get and keep a perfect install so you don't have to do it over again - and to be sure save a backup image which can recover it in 20 minutes.
