Repair without a command prompt

I recently clobbered my partition table, MBR and who knows what else while setting up dual boot on my Windows 7 machine (with Linux Mint). I was able to rebuild the partition table with utilities on the Linux side, and can even read the Windows NTFS partitions by mounting them in Linux. But I cannot get the system to boot either in Windows or Linux (I can boot a Stand alone USB Linux flashdrive, which is how I did those mounts). Boot halts at a line cursor flashing on a black screen. No errors or mention of Windows processes.

I have tried the Windows startup repair from recovery DVDs to no avail, it told me it could not fix it automatically. I do not have installation disks, but have a set of 4 recovery disks I made per the instructions when I first bought the machine. Now to the problem - I have no way to get to command prompt to try any of the fixes posted here. My recovery screens are nothing like those shown here or anywhere else I have looked. Mine is a black screen with two columns of white writing, one for startup repair, restore, and factory reset, and the other for backing up data. No command prompt option anywhere to be seen. I have tried hitting function keys while booting without result. The only way to exit this screen without going into one of the prompts forces a reboot. Anyone have any suggestions?
