Solved Replace Linux with Win 7

I bought a used computer that was advertised as having Win 7 Pro. Unfortunately the seller ran into problems doing a factory reset, so she just wiped it and loaded Ubuntu on the machine, and shipped it out before telling me of the change. I specifically bought this machine because it had Win 7. My current unit is old and kind of glitchy, and even though the one I just bought isn't the latest, it does represent a significant upgrade from my current set-up. So in trying to find out how to turn this back into a Win 7 computer I find different solutions. Some of these give an involved list of instructions and say I must first manually uninstall Ubuntu before I can then install Win 7, others say just do a clean install of Win 7 and that will reformat the hard drive and wipe Ubuntu from the computer. So which is right? I'm not that proficient, and just clean installing Win 7 from the DVD is much more appealing to me than these more involved instructions. I don't really feel confident to do all that, and they seem to be saying I need the Ubuntu disk to do it anyway, which I don't have.

First point you want money back for no win7 as you will need to buy it if it was eBay or on credit card they will get you the money. Next step is goto dell site enter your tag number and make sure there are drivers for the PC for 7 if there isn't you may have to get ten.
Next is simple boot win7 install when it gets to select disk delete all partitions at bottom of screen then just hit install 7 will create everything it needs it's that simple

If the machine shipped from dell with win7 slp activation, there should be a license key on a sticker on the case somewhere.

If it was slp preinstalled, it should in theory be straightforward to install win7 - but there might also be machine specific drivers that are also needed.

If it is a Dell computer it should have a COA sticker with a Win 7 license on it.
If it has the COA sticker with a Win 7 license on it you can easily install win 7 on it (same version)

So, before you return the computer, look for the COA sticker.
If it's a desktop it should be on the side panel. If it's a laptop, it could be under the battery.

I had simliar problem with Ebay and they wanted me to return the pc I told Ebay I had installed banking details and want cash for buying win7 and got it no problem is not as advertized so you have the right
