Replacing all startup screens?

Hello,

First, thanks for everybody's input in these forums.


I already managed to remove the "welcome" message that appears just before i get to the desktop when i start up, with this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/126747-logging-off-text-message-change.html#post1111176

So thanks again for this help.

NOW: my problem is. I'm very picky. hm. sorry. I dont like startup screens design, i feel very uncomfortable when i start my PC. I dont wanna judge windows graphic designers, they do their work, but... i just wish i could replace that black screen (with this animated windows logo, saying "windows is starting up..." or whatever) by a simple black or grey background. Just a simple empty black screen... because i mean, I dont need to be told that windows is starting up, i know, i just pressed the on button. damn!! thats so lame... am i the only one who thinks so???

just like i did nt need to be told "Welcome" as this is MY computer, my workplace, off course i am welcome, i hope i am!!!!:banghead:

So.. someone could help me please? i searched a lot already but its so complicated and nobody seems to have asked this before

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you 're looking for
(it doesn't replace the animation but switches it off)

Go to Start/Run/MSConfig/Boot and set a check mark next to NoGUIboot

thank you for the reply! Yeah its already some help! at least it cuts off the "starting windows" screen, thank you. i didnt even know msconfig, i'm not a good geek

But "resuming windows" screen is still there any other idea as to remove it too??

OK...we're one step further
now .please specify, what do you mean with " resuming window"
You do realize all those screens are there to keep the user entertained during boot up (which takes a certain amount of time because there are things that have to be done so you can use your windows properly.
If it's all about reducing boot time then please say so and we can look into what's keeping you waiting

To answer your question, its really an esthetic issue, more than a too-big-waiting-time. I just installed seven x64 on two machines two weeks ago, and they boot up quick enough.

I know its to "keep me entertained" (lol!!!) and that is what bugs me so much, i dont need to be entertained, and mostly not by such ugly screens. I know wnidows is strting up, no need to tell me. if theres problem i'll see it quick enough.

I wish m machines boot up, go to sleep, come back from sleep / hibernate with no messages, no logos, just the screen with the passwrd, then the desktop.
when i boot up, I should press the ON button, see the bios infos (i dont care if i still see the bios boot up info) and then some black or grey screens, the login screen, and then the desktop.


Yeah... i gues i sound pathetic ... as my problem is really esthetic, i just find SO ugly how all this boot screens and logoff/windows resume screen look... Sorry

PS and i said "resuming windows" its the screen that comes when i make my machine go "hibernate", and come back. its a black screen with the animated logo. if at least i could turn off the logo.
the trick with msconfig.exe worked for boot up, but not for coming-back-from-hibernate.

You can Edit and correct your posts with the Edit button. You can even delete your post if you go to Edit > Go Advanced.

OK, I see..Even tho I might look like a Grizzly bear, I never used hibernation myself...either I send it to sleep or I shut down the machine completely.
To pull a fast one out of my sleeve, so to speak try Hybrid sleep instead (I know I
only see the Password screen when the machine comes out of sleep (and I'm rather sure that password request could be removed/switched off too...it just never bothered me
