I asked it, so I wouldn't be surprised by unexpected things
The badges and rep look really nice, but that is it for me, nothing more nothing less

Axe0 I wouldn't worry about the Goldmember badge - It's the only badge that is awarded just on post count, with no account taken of the actual value of the posts.

It was originally added to the available badges to give members, who were unlikely to be awarded any of the other badges, something to aim for.

It will become available to you when you reach 2000 posts.

The badges you have now are partly based on REP received (SevenPro], or are actually awarded due to the quality of your help on the forums, [Supporter] & [BSOD Team]

Look as Barman says mate everyone well those of us who have long memberships know the badges are just a recognition thing and I for one find your posts really very helpful and you have taught me a fair bit since being on the forum.

I know it is all a bit concerning for new members but it took me two years to get just the greeen pips:shock: when I got those dangly things well that was a just a bonus and really doesn't mean that I ma much good in fact I would be the first to admit to being still a novice. I do this for a hobby because a really bad shoulder fracture gold prospecting stopped my motor cycling and woodwork days and always been into electronics - yes vacuum tubes left me with a hobby I can pursue albeit as an amateur.

You can only have 3 badges showing and some people drop one of the ones they have so they can have the Gold badge showing, but it's up to you which ones you want showing under your name. You could just leave things as they are and not bother showing the Gold badge, that one is after all just for post count, the one's you have already show how well you help out here.

I wonder what those reputation numbers mean. I have over 42.000 reputation points and reputation power of 1378. Is that good, bad or indifferent. And what does it really mean.

42000 rep points just tells you you have almost 6.5 medals,



@ 6500 per medal.

Reputation power is capped at 45 so anything over that is just bragging rights.

That is the amount you give when you rep someone.

Good, bad or indifferent will have to be answered by you. Since you have them hidden, I'm guessing indifferent.

What it really means is you've collected a bunch of kudos for helping out.

Most of that is in the first post.

Thanks Derek. I was just curious. But points, badges, etc, do not mean very much to me. In my long life of nearly 80 years I have collected so many of then that I can already fill a big box. No need to add to that. LOL

They do provide a rough guide as to whether or not solutions/suggestions are reasonable.
