Restore backup issue

OH the trouble begins...................

I was unable to do the upgrade, the system crashed at about 75% with no reasons. Then I went back to my Vista OS and all was operating normally. I then tried the upgrade again but it failed with an error and then looped back to a install error. I can't recall the exact error.

I then did a clean install with no problems until it went and loaded the ATI drivers. NOTE: MAKE sure to select the option to LET ME CHOOSE WHAT UPDATES TO INSTALL. After the second attempt with options selected as noted the install went perfectly. I am glad I made the back up! Anyways as I had a complete back up of Vista, 1 25GB BD-RE disk and 5 extra 4.7GB DVD's. I can restore the single 25GB disk but that is all it will load. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or how to restore the remaining 5 DVD disks. Windows 7 does not ask for anything other then the first disk. They are labeled as MIKE-PC 11-4-09 6:00 PM Disk 2 thru 6, Disk 1 obviously the 25GB Disk. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to restore the back up Disks. The Vista OS was also a 64 bit as is the Windows 7 OS.

Here is the trick. Create a new folder on the C: drive, I named it "back up" so you then will see the back in computer > local disk(C) > back up. This way the restored back up files do not conflict with the current settings. Once I figure out how to restore the files and folders manually I will be happy to post the process on what and how to do it. It appears that the home primium edition does not support the back up as the other two editions of Windows 7 does but this work around will do the job.
