Hi

Please take a look at the bottom of your laptop and check whether there is a COA sticker like the below one.

win7_home_prem.jpg

If yes, you can use the key printed on that sticker to perform a clean installation. Please refer the detailed guide written by "gregrocker" for more info.

The guide covers everything you need to know and includes download links for legal versions of Windows 7. Make sure to download the exact edition of Windows 7 image which will be printed on the sticker ( ie Pro means Professional ). After performing the clean install, use phone based activation as online activation is not supported for OEM installations.

What exactly do you not understand about the Clean Reinstall tutorial? Step 5 lets you create an audit of hardware, software including Product Keys. You can skip if you want.

It explains how to do the partitioning in Step 8. But first be sure to read the Special Note for Dell Owners at the end to test bootable Diagnostics. These are valuable to keep, so if they boot and run be sure to save the small OEM utility partition, but you can delete all others since Recovery will not run after a Clean Reinstall plus you want to create a new install and data partition to start freshest.

So after using Drive Ootions to delete all except OEM Utility partition, click New to create and format your OS partition of around 100gb, then your data partition for the rest.
