Hello all,
I've browsed the forums and haven't come across a thread where someone was silly enough (i.e. Me) to restore their computer to factory settings without saving a copy of windows or already having the disk at hand. Is there any way for me to fix this without having to buy Windows again?

No problem - use the recovery partition. Procedures are different by make. What is the make of your PC.

You can download a Windows ISO and burn it to a disc and install from that disk---assuming you have a valid 25-character Product Key.

If you have the Product Key, you don't have to buy anything.

You should have such a disk anyway.

Get the ISO here. Be sure to get the correct version to match your Product Key.

If it fails to recover you also have the option to get a superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 without the corrupting HP Bloatware and duplicate utilities to better versions in Win7.

At the least I'd Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

If Recovery works for you I'd also make my Recovery disks so you have an alternative method in case you need to run it again since Recovery from F11 can fail.

At any time in the future you can also save your own Recovery image of your customized Win7 using Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup to an external HD.

Hi All,

I bought Hp Pavilion DV6 6159TX around 10 months ago. I did not make backup of the recovery partition.

Now that I am running recovery from partition, it gives error of file missing.

Can anyone here please guide me what to do?

Thanks
