Restored to Factory Settings - Same Problem HELPPP!

Background Info:

About 5 days ago I was using my computer and it turned off automatically. When I went to boot the comp. back up, it took me to the "start up repair screen" and didn't let me out. It couldn't fix the problem and I couldn't boot my computer. I called DELL and they had me restore my computer to factory settings. My computer is not old so I didn't have much on it anyway, I was not against erasing all previous data.

After I restored it to factory settings, I'm still getting the same problem. I'm afraid to restart, turn off my computer etc because it's on a "maybe" basis. Sometimes I'll boot up and sometimes I won't. But last night, I guess windows updated and restarted my computer automatically and when I got back, the same problem occurred. I just restored it to factory settings again this morning because I was unable to bypass the "start up repair."

Is something wrong with my computer? I mean, I restored it back to day1 settings and that still didn't fix the problem. Can Malware somehow jump ship? Is it even Malware? I've been reading different forums in regards to this issue, and most people have not complained about the problem if they have restored their systems to factory settings, but I'm still experiencing this incredibly annoying and frustrating issue.

Any thoughts? Advice? Help!?

Do me a favor and add the word laptop or desktop to the “system manufacturer” block.

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader, Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.

Actually, I tried doing that this morning and it didn't work.

That's what prompted me to restore the computer, yet again, to factory settings. Now I have it so it only sleeps and doesn't restart or turn off.

I'm afraid I"ll have to do restore factory settings ALL over again if I get caught in the loop again..

Any other pointers?

As I understand it you do a factory restore then getting the startup repair screen at boot at some stage.
Can you successfully boot a number of times with success before the repair screen appears?

After trying the earlier tips
If you can successfully boot I would do a check of your file system and HDD integrity.
1) Run a System File Check

2) Check HDD integrity

Computer>right click disk>Properties>Tools>Check Now> Tick both boxes
This schedules a file system check and importantly a surface scan for bad blocks upon the restart of your computer.
This will take 2 hours+ to scan your whole HDD depending on it's size.
