Restoring Overwritten Files

Hi, all,

I was trying to back up my "My Documents" folder yesterday to my external hard drive, wasn't thinking, and ended up hitting "restore" instead of "back up," accidentally restoring my folder to where it was at four months ago and erasing a large amount of data from my computer. Naturally, I'm more than a little upset. There's one file in particular that I'm looking for. This is probably a lost cause, but can anyone let me know if my computer might have saved a backup this file somewhere hidden? I'd really hate to have lost it because of a simple mistake, but I suppose these things can happen.

Thanks very much for your time!
