Reverting the registery to its default settings

Hello all,

On my friend's Windows 7 x86 machine some registery apps were working and every so often some odd thing would occur. After uninstalling those registery apps which were doubtful to me, we restarted to use the machine. Now I think the registery has changed and is different to its default. How to revert those registery settings to their default state please?

No, unfortunately it's not backed up. And I didn't understand what you mean by "What programs were used", my friend.

I meant which Registry Cleaners where used ? .. Is there any Restore points ?

We didn't use any registery cleaners. But those apps (which I've forgotten their names) were to modify the registery so I uninstalled them. After that I uninstalled others excess apps as well and left the machine as was. Now I don't know/think restore point is much useful because many changes have been happened. A good tool for getting the registery returned to its default would be desired!

Run a System Scan that will tell you if you have corrupt Files ..

If sfc /scannow doesn't do the job you could try a Repair Install.

About the sfc command, I have one more question
The sfc command, as its name also says, checks the system files or the integrity of the Windows' files. And then goes to repair them when it finds errors/incompatibility. So, the whole files of the Windows OS should always be stored somewhere in the machine so that it can check current status of system files by that. Yes?

System file check is a utility built into the Operating System that will check for system file corruption The sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible....

As you know not always possible to replace them ...
