RocketDock Questions

1. I have Stack Docklet installed, but I cannot figure this out. When I minimize 4+ windows to my dock, instead of having 4 web page (or other) icons at the right end of my dock, I would like them to stack and fan out when I click?

2. How do I add an icon to my RocketDock for the sticky note feature? I have tried dragging and dropping but when clicked on, it says there is an error in the path.

3. When plugging in a flash drive, how do I have an icon pop up on either my desktop or RocketDock instead of my hidden windows taskbar?

4. Is there any possible way of minimizing a program I am using, and instead of minimizing to the right end of my dock, minimize right back into its regular icon but with an arrow under the icon showing me I have that program open? (Like a mac)

No idea on Stack Docklet. Never used it.

3. Just did a quick google search, and I found this program which makes a shortcut on your desktop when you plug in a USB drive, or other things too!

I think you misunderstood, I know how to add the icons, but I cannot get the correct path for when i click on the icon. Thanks anyway

You must first put the link or shortcut that has the path into Rocket Dock. E.g. for a webpage, it will generate a generic icon (a globe with an arrow). Then you right click on the generic icon in the dock and go to "Icon Settings". If you have previously put the desired icon (in .png format) into C > Program files > Rocket Dock > Icons , it will appear in the little Icon Table and you can click on your icon and OK it. Then it will keep the path. You cannot just start with an icon without path.
Example: Pull the address icon of this webpage to the desktop (lower the page a little so that you can see the desktop). Push this shortcut into the Rocket Dock. When you click on the icon now, you'll get back to this page meaning that there is a valid path. Now right click on the generic icon and replace it with any other in the little table (as explained above) and click OK. Voila!
Now you can pull the icon back out of the Rocket Dock to get rid of it because you probably don't want to keep it there - it was just a test.

Yes, and i have done that all. When i drag and drop the shortcut/link/whatever it drags and drops perfectly. However, when i click the icon, after doing everything you just said, a message pops up saying 'Windows cannot find 'C:\........\startmenu\stickynotes.lnk'.

Then there is something wrong with Rocket Dock. I can only suggest that you completely uninstall it (use Revo Uninstaller) and reinstall it. Maybe there was an error during the installation initially.

Hi kmurdoch.

I had the same issue as you.

The only thing that (kind of) worked was:

Copying the Stikynot.exe file from windows\system32 folder to another folder, and then making a shortcut to the RocketDock...

The only thing is somehow new notes created after opening the Sticky notes program with this new shortcut pointing to a copy of the sticky notes exe file, located on another folder... the new notes somehow uses a different, kind of weird, different font.

Well, that's it. I registered just to say that... after 11 years.
