Royaly Confused about gta 3 running

ok im new im not sure if this is where i should post this but i didnt see a trouble shooting forum, ok so heres whats happening. Today i installed gta 3 (before u say its my graphics it worked on XP) and when i tried to run it it would ask me if i would like to give it right to access my system and that stuff, i click yes and nothing happens, it wont launch. I tried comatability mode for XP SP2 and SP3, please help this is one of ym favorite games

Are you dual booting with XP, if so try running the launcher in the XP partition to see if it makes a difference, I had the same problem with GTA4 and it would run when I launched it from Vista partition, I ended up just replacing the windows 7 install with the vista one and it worked fine after that.

im not running a dual boot but before i installed W7 i had XP wich would run gta 3, VC, and gta SA

Have you updated DirectX with the March update and made sure you have up to date drivers for every thing else?
