I disabled the built-in Windows 7's Media center, and I already forecely installed WMP 10 on Windows 7, and it works with no problem. Now is there any way to run Media Center 2005 on Windows 7? It only says it can be only run on Media Center Edition. I really want to run it on Windows 7, without VMs. Any way to do this?

I use Windows 7 ultimate. I already have XP mode, but I want to try it on my host, Windows 7.

Oh, when I upgraded WMP back to 12, it worked fine, but is there a way to use it with WMP 9/10 because I really don't like WMP12(there is a way that I tried and succeeded to downgradeto WMP 7/8/9/10/11)

I just found out how to install multiple WMP versions in one OS. closing.

-------

1. delete registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer(WMP will make it again, but you need it to delete it first, but no need to delete it again when it is recreated)
2. Unzip the installation executable file(ex. mpsetup.exe) with 7-Zip
3. open elevated command line window in that folder and write "for %i in (wmp*.dll) do regsvr32 %i"
4. run wmplayer.exe

Thanks, kinda, I was just curious if deleting MediaPlayer registry and putting wmp.dll, wmploc.dll, etc in the Windows Media Player directory, not system32 would work and it just worked 98% perfectly.
