Running W7 64-bit, Installed RAM 3GB, Usable: 895MB. What should I do?

I suddenly noticed dips in my computer performances recently so I instinctively opened up task manager to see how much memory was being used up and to my astonishment (dramatic much?) I saw that somehow I had lost more than 2GB ram of Total Memory.

Here are the specifications of my system: copied from run: dxdiag

ACER AX3400
Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium (6.1, Build 7601)
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: AMD Athlon II X2 220 Processor (2 CPUS), ~ 2,8GHz
Memory: 3072MB RAM
Page file (??): 1524MB Used, 395MB available
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 9200: Approx total memory; 305MB

I was wondering if this had anything to do with my graphics card for starters and also if anyone can help me find a solution that would be greatly appreciated.

You could open the Resource Monitor, Memory tab and check the graphic at the bottom. It should show how your memory is being used. The numbers above show what might be using what.

Since I do not have 3 GB of memory in my system, I cannot judge if your numbers seem normal. Maybe the Hardware Reserved number will make a difference. You can take a snipping tool picture of the window and attach using the paperclip.

Having a look at your system overview...it seems that it comes with 4 GB of RAM yet your system specs in your post only list 3 GB of RAM.

Natively windows 7 only recognizes/activates 1 core. Do you have all cores enabled?

You can help us to help you. Read and use the following procedure to fill out your System Specs. You will find SPECCY easy to use.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
Manufacturer and Model and
ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
For example:
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

You will find that in Speccy, you can select info from the display
using your mouse/touchpad and then paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
this capability.
