Hello all,

My shop computer memory can not run windows 10 well so i reinstalled windows 7 on it today only to realize Sony does not offer drivers for the vpcea46fm sony vaio anymore. I install from a builder USB so there are no drivers to load.

I have been searching and every website feels like spam/virus to me... If there a third party site that actually has original divers..

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Welcome to the forum you will have to search the net by each driver you need to see if you can download them from somwere else. Funny most Linux have no problems with driver and are free

Yep, Sony's website straight up says they don't have drivers anymore. That to me shows what an absolute piece of crap product that is. Especially since Dell still has drivers for their legacy products.

So I tried searching archive.org and nothing but the manual. I went to the wayback machine for Sony's original download webpage and it wasn't indexed. I went to eBay to see if by chance someone was selling the driver CD and nothing. Interesting to note, there was only one of these laptops listed for sale on eBay. What's that say?

However! The Driver Scape website looks legit, and I think I have used them in the past. I downloaded three drivers from the page and had VirusTotal scan the download and nothing showed up on radar. The general consensus with VirusTotal is four hits and you toss. If any community comments are added use that with a mine cart of salt.

Chose your OS version, 32 or 64 bit. Some of the drivers are repeats so pay attention to driver version numbers. You'll most likely want the latest version. I'd look in your computer's Device Manager in the Control Panel and see what you all need for drivers. The chipset driver will most likely be number one. Along with the network drivers for both Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
