HI guys... hope u can help me with this question... i bought just last saturday this lap, a samsung rf410... its pretty good deal for a low budget, with a core i3 330m, 4gb ram and nvidia 330m graphics... but well, my question is...

i like playing mmorpgs, like wow, aion, pwi, even dota... i started playing with the new lap and, just for checking, i monitored the temps from cpu and gpu, and the cpu got up to 82C max, being normally at low 70s... is that too hot for a core i3-330m on a nes? samsumg laptop?? i am investigating about it and seems like it's still not close to the max (105 i think for intel) but i just bouthg the lap this weekend and its on a laptop stand with a fan (a cheap stand but still better than nothing i think)...
oh and the gpu was maximum 71c, so i think that one is safe hehe

thanks in advance! :D

Normally at low 70s seems a tad high for me, should be between 40 and 60. Though it also depends on laptop brand. As long as the cpu stays below 90, you should be fine though, after that it may start shutting down randomly. So using a stand is a good idea, even better to use a proper chillpad.

What are your ambient temps?

my ambient temps are around 22-28 c... the heat season it's starting where i live hehe... but well, while idle, the cpu temps are (i think) quite good, with them around the 44c... what i posted was when stressed (playing mmorpg... not all, some doesnt stress the system that much)... and this is where it reached like 81 max, but stayed at around 70-75c... and the gpu stressed was at max 73c...

OK. But a chillpad would be a worthwhile investment if you're going to game. Also, clean out the dust bunnies from time to time with a can of compressed air and generally keep the venst and exhausts open. Till you get a chillpad, raise the rear of the laptop to improve air circulation.

ok ok...so i think its time to upgrade from a cheap stand to a good chillpad... thanks for the advice, i will do buy it! :D

just for the record... if hipotetically even with the chillipad, temps would be like now (around low 70 but with certain points of 81-82c max....) would that be too bad?

No, except for the money you spent on the chillpad.
