Solved Safely Remove Hardware message

I have two HDDs in external enclosures, one is a 320GB, the other a 750GB, the enclosures are both USB 2.0. Both drives are SATA III. When I click the Safely Remove icon it shows different messages for each one and I was wondering why?



Both are of course USB storage. I get the same message when only one is attached, USB storage for the 320GB and USB to SATA Bridge for the 750GB.

The controller in the enclosures are probably different and identify them selves different to the OS.

Thanks Jim, I was wondering about that, both are Kingwin but different models and one is 2 years old.
The one that says USB storage is:

I have swapped enclosures, both are the same model, just different colors and the safely remove messages are still different.

I've always thought Win 7 was a little buggy when it came to drives and such. When you safely remove them, do they sort of power down for removal like they are suppose to?

Looks normal to me, as long as they both show up, I wouldn`t worry about it.

They both still run but do disappear from Computer. I was just curious why they are called differently in the Safely Remove dialog.
If I get ambitious I'll swap drives and enclosure and see what happens.

Completely normal. You have two different hard drives in two different enclosures with a different chipset in each, thus they do not have the same name.

the drive enclosures are identical except for their colors, one black, one silver. Drive are both Seagate, one 320GB, the other is a hybrid SHDD, 750GB.
