Hi, my computer (Samsung series 9 laptop) was running slow, etc. I tried the Samsung Recovery Solution Simple Restore. After this, I could not start any application, and got BSOD issues. I managed to fix this by going into Windows advanced recovery. I then decided to run EasyRE to fix any outstanding issues. Now I cannot boot into Windows, it goes straight to Samsung Recovery Solution, and when I manage to get into Safe Moad, it lists the horrible SRS as the OS. Help! I am assuming EasyRE has corrupted the bootloader somehow, but don't know how to fix it. I made a recovery disc on another Win 7 computer, and it said it had fixed it, but on restart it still booted into SRS.

Running a startup repair with a recovery CD now, making a while will let it run...no it shouldn't be slow, thats why I was messing around with it. After SRS, the OS started up, but was doing weird things, ie the system tray arrow when clicked only showed a long blank panel, and no icons in control panel, but the BSOD only happened When I tried to launch something. Manged to get into advanced repair and did a sys restore etc...but was still iffy that's why I ran the EasyRE.

The factory preinstalled Win7 is a corrupt install which smothers the OS with bloatware and useless duplicate utilities that have much better versions built into Win7. Most tech enthusiasts will not run such an install but instead choose to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

At the minimum I'd try to clean up the factory mess using Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

Make your Recovery media now so you can delete all partitions during reinstall, or if you keep the Samsung mess you have an alternate method to their buggy recovery crapware.
