Samsung SSD 850 Pro EXM03B6Q Firmware update finally available.

Samsung has recently posted firmware update EXM03B6Q for the 850 Pro on the download site.
I was unable to update via Magician so downloaded the ISO and ran it from a USB drive.
I was one of the lucky ones who didn't update to EXM02B6Q in Feb of 2015 which was a total disaster.
The update worked without any problems and speeds have not changed at all.
There is also a PDF installation guide for those who like to read first.
Don't forget to image the SSD first just in case. I did not, however loose data but better safe than sorry.

Cheers:)

Luckily I was able to update via Magician awhile back. Thanks for the info though.

Today Samsung has posted it's Magician 5.0 software.
Access Denied
Don't know what happened but the link above Access Denied still works. Hover over it and it shows link.
It does not show it as version 5.0 which is bit strange.
I installed it but soon realized that I much prefer version 4.9.7
There was no obvious place to set over-provisioning, although you could still leave some unformatted space at the end of the drive to achieve the same result.
Also there was no way to check the performance of normal Hard Drives. It only showed performance for the ssd only.
I reinstalled version 4.9.7 but you will have to make up your own mind as to whether it is better.

Cheers!

A lot of links turn up Access Denied but they still work fine, could just be a Forum thing. :)

The magician software is basically useless.

I have version 4.5 installed and rarely use it.

I have to agree with you there.
What I forgot to mention is that there was also no settings for OS Optimization in Magician 5.0
I am using the Advanced setting but I already made all settings in the OS when I first set up the ssd.
Seems strange Samsung would update Magician and give you less control.
