sata cable

I have a hp pavilion DV7 (4180eb).
It has a SATA 3 slot for 1 HDD but it's no regular sata cable and power cable: it's integrated in one cable.

Has each laptop a specific sata cable?

Most laptops don't use a SATA cable at all. They just have a SATA connector that the drive snaps into. They're usually an all in one connector, not separate power/data cables.

If your laptop uses a cable, then absolutely yes: it is specific to that laptop.
