I have a secondary sata in my computer however i cant get any of my data from there as it is very important. if i start in normal mode and when i get to the insert password the screen goes all haywire, then if i restart it in safe mode and go to the computer management it says that my drive is 1174gb yet it is only a 750. any ideas on how i can fix this as i really need to get some of my files. eg like baby photos and stuff like that

i am unable to see the partitions in that drive in explorer either.

First, boot into BIOS and make sure the drive has the correct parameters set for it. If not, fix it and reboot normal. If so, then:

In disk management screen, is the drive assigned a letter?

Start your computer in safe mode with command prompt.

If it already has a letter, or you can assign one, then do this command to have the disk checked for errors and fixed:

chkdsk /f x:

where x = the drive letter

If all else fails, I'd say start the computer in safe mode with networking and post a screenshot of disk management. Scanning your primary drive with Malewarebytes can only be a good idea, too. Possibly some kind of malware did this to your secondary drive. It would be good to know the system is clean to proceed further.

Hey. Could you give us some more info like system specs. Is the drive internal or external. Is this a clean install of win 7. Did it work before then break? Etc
