:thumbsup: thank you for heads up I also noticed that KB3035583 again popped up in my optional updates hence I have again chosen the option to hide it.

So looks like I am ready to install the rest of them keeping my fingers crossed.

One question that will disabling OS upgrades in GWX stop all the future Windows 10 patches or only the one that have been released in the past ??

Sorry but a bit confused

GWX Control panel is a good way to see what is happening whether you use disable upgrading is up to you I didn't I have 7 home premium
On a 7 pro install I simply used group policy to disable upgrading
That would only possibly stop win-10 from loading but will not stop the snoopware from being downloaded it's up to you/ I ... to decide what to load ;)

I have a question.

I know that these are all dangerous:

DANGEROUS:
KB2923545 = Remote Desktop, recommended to avoid
KB2952664 = Compatibility update for upgrading Windows 7
KB2977759 = W10 Diagnostics Compatibility telemetry
KB2990214 = Update that enables you to upgrade from Windows 7 to a later version of Windows
KB3012973 = Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro
KB3021917 = Update to Windows 7 SP1 for performance improvements
KB3022345 = Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry
KB3044374 = W8,8.1 Nagware for W10
KB3035583 = Update installs get windows 10 app in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 SP1
KB3050265 = Windows Update service updated to accept upgrade to W10
KB3068707 = Customer experience telemetry points
KB3068708 = (replaces KB3022345) Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry
KB3075249 = Update that adds telemetry points to consent.exe in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7
KB3080149 = Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry
KB3083324 = Unknown and suspicious until we have further information
KB3083710 = "Get Windows X"
KB3112343 = Support for additional upgrade scenarios from Windows 7 to Windows 10

And I know that all these are safe:

SAFE:
KB890830
KB3108664
KB3109560
KB3110329
KB3121212
KB3121918
KB3123479
KB3124000
KB3124001
KB3124275

But what about these ones? I can't find any information on them anywhere:

UNSURE:
KB915597
KB2882822
KB3099862
KB3108371
KB3108670
KB3108381
KB3109094
KB3109103
KB3112148

I've checked in all these places and can't see any reference to them being either safe or dangerous:

Windows GWX and Telemetry updates to avoid – Paul Stenning's Blog
Stop Windows Telemetry/Tracking/Upgrading to Win10 « alaya:techne

Surely there should be an updated list somewhere saying whether each new update is safe or not? How are all the millions of Windows 7 users dealing with this?

Hi,
Well first off I'd just google the updates you're wondering about.
Thank you. I have reservations about simply Googling them because I have found that there are many websites that seem quite innocent about these things. Their information is derived from official Microsoft information. It only seems to be in certain places (like here) where there are clever men who can tell that some of these updates are actually malicious.

You'd need to google the kb# just to find the official M$ article to read :)
Or use the More information link in your update listing is the easiest way.
