scheduler monitor off and hibernate settings

hi
what is the event id and log name in sheduller for monitor off or display loss, i want to use this as a trigger for a short cut to hibernate. (this will be the action)

hope someone can help.

thanks . sorry. think ive been missunderstood. i want to hibernate my machine using my monitor power off.
someone has mentioned making a task in sheduller and pointing it at a hibernate shortcut. the shortcut is done just need to figure out what will trigger it..ie an event (monitor off)

oh sorry well thats easy you go to the power settings and change the function the power button does

1. type power in start menu search box
2. click on power options in the result pane
3. choose a power option
4. click on change advanced power options
5. go to power buttons and lid
6. and choose your option
   click apply

sorry i got it wrong what you want i am not sure you can hibernate machine by just turning off the monitor button?

im doing exactly what your avatar icon is lol.... ive been told that task sheduller should do it.. like ive said i just need the event log and id number for the trigger part ( monitor off). when i switch my tv off the htpc makes the hardware removed sound. so to me thats an event...

Hi,

You can have task manager perform things like 'Shutdown Computer' using a command line but there's no hardware ID for a Monitor Power off state (at least, just looked but didn't find).

You could try searching online for 3rd party task scheduler apps
