Screen display on laptop offset so not all of screen visible

The image displayed on the screen of my Toshiba Satellite laptop is offset so that not all of the tray at the bottom is visible, and there is about 3/4" of black screen at the right side of the display.

It seems to have coincided with my having installed a malware-ridden application. Although I think I have expunged all of the malware, the screen display problem persists.

I have tried restarting, and I poked around in the Control Panel options, but no obvious solution has presented itself.

Any suggestions?

try right clicking your desktop, click resolution, then see if your computers on the correct resolution, i've never seen this happen on a lappy before

the "Best Answer" just referred me to the Toshiba Support website, but it wasn't clear to me from it what the fix for this particular problem is.

It's a hardware issue, the panel is faulty.
Please post a picture and not a screenshot to confirm that it is what I am thinking about.
