Hello,

I recently did a factory reset on my laptop. The problem I have is that the screen turns off after being idle, and the CPU usage increases dramatically afterwards, causing my laptop to overheat while I am away. When I turn the screen back on, my taskbar and "window color" appear white for a few seconds.

I changed the settings in Power Management to "never" and made sure my screen saver was set to "none," but the problem still persists.

Here is a screenshot of my settings:

Am I missing something obvious or do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

This behavior is not normal. Did you ever make a few virus scans - e.g. with Malwarebytes and your AV program.

I just ran a full scan using Kaspersky, and no threats are detected.

My computer had to install 60+ more updates over the past few days, which seemed to fix the issue. I am also getting a laptop cooling pad to help prevent overheating in general. If I don't see the problem reoccur in the next few days I will mark this as problem as solved.
