Screensaver Problem?

Hello All, Iv'e recently bought a new laptop and it came with Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I was setting up my computer and decided to set a nice little screen saver. Well I went to the menu and selected one. A message appeared that read "You need to download Direct 3D 9.0" or something like that. Iv'e tried to find it but I cant....Can anyone give me a download link? Or is it some other kid of problem?

MORE: It now appears that Windows Media Player will not play any videos or photos...only audio. Now I'm desperate. HELP!

Well Direct X 9.0 is not requried becuase Windows 7 uses Direct X 11. I suspect there might be some issues Screensaver. Did you try with a different screen saver

^Hello, It's not really my screen saver anymore....Now it seems like Windows Media Center will not open ANY video files. All I get is a picture of the first frame of the movie and audio. It will also not show any pictures in ANY format using Windows Media Center....It's now a lot more serious then screen savers...Any help?

D3D is only a part of DirectX. DirectX11 has this part already, so I'm guess that the screensaver is designed for an older version of DirectX. If the screensaver is native in W7, then I don't understand why it would have a problem. I can't recommend it, but I know that sometimes older games want to automatically install older versions of DirectX, and when I asked about it on a forum elsewhere, I was told to go ahead and let it, because it wouldn't effect DirectX 11. All that I know is that I did as suggested and dxdiag still shows the version as DirectX 11 and everything works okay. Take this for what it is worth...speculation.

What leads you to believe that the two issues are connected?

The solution is so simple. All I did was re-installed the video drivers...I should have done that earlier...
