Solved search multiple drives in W7

In XP I could select the drives when doing a search. I have two hard drives and when I do
a search in W7 it appears only C: is searched. Is there a setting for multiple drives?

Yes type Indexing Options in Start Search box, then Modify and tick the boxes you want.

Pay attention to sub-boxes as you may not want to Index the Windows folder and limit it to User accounts only on C.

It's not. Most users don't want any drive they plug in to automatically be indexed which uses background resources. So you need to add them, that's all

A good rule of thumb is to limit the chosen items to only what you might need to search using a keyword. The index is so cool it will find webpages you visited
