Search Programs and File Option not working in START Menu

I am using windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit edition. When I click on START and then try to execute any application from Search Programs and Files , such as "Notepad", WinWord etc. nothing comes up.

Also most of the time I get an error, please see the attached screen shot.

Can anyone help me with this??
