Second monitor flickers, but works fine after sleep

I installed my old ASUS EAH 4670 video card in my new desktop so that I could use dual monitors. My second monitor (VGA) flickers whenever I use my mouse. The problem is solved and the monitor works fine if I let the CPU go to sleep and then wake it up. I have tried twitching monitors and always the VGA flickers. Both monitors are Dell.

it sounds to me like there could be a internal hardware glitch of some sort causing the flickering. however; there is one thing short of trashing the monitor that you can try first; try seeing if you can adjust the resolution for the monitor in windows settings. Sometimes adjusting the refresh rate and or changing the resolution can fix the issue. Give that a shot and see if it does anything for ya to resolve the issue. If not report back and we can try and go from there.

I will try that, but I want to clarify. I have two Dell Monitors, 17" and 19". The 17" is connected to the video card as a digital, and the 19" is connected as a VGA. The 19" flickers when connected as a VGA. I tried switching the two monitors and connecting the 17" as the VGA, and the 17" starts flickering. It seems it not the fault of the monitor. Each is run at a different resolution and refresh rate.

well; actually it could be the monitor itself believe it or not. Sometimes monitors just develop hardware glitches that can lead to flickering etc. Other times that can be solved by adjusting the refresh rate which sometimes will help solve issues. If that does not do anything by adjusting the refresh rate then as much as i hate to say it there is probably a internal hardware glitch going on with the monitor.

Does that mean both monitors have a hardware glitch, or is it the video card?

Well it sounds to me like its just the one monitor that's having the issues that could be defunct.

Maybe I wasn't clear:
The 19" flickers when connected as a VGA. I tried switching the two monitors and connecting the 17" as the VGA, and the 17" starts flickering, and the 19 works fine. Whatever Dell monitor is connected to the VGA will flicker when the computer is first turned on. All flickering stops after a sleep/wake up. I connected my ACER monitor as VGA and rebooted and no flicker.

I changed the refresh rate and it still flickers. I did find that Windows 7 is not recognizing the Dell 2007FPb monitor, and it does not allow the native resolution. I reduce the resolution and the flicker went away. When I changed the resolution back to the maximum allowed (still less than the native), the flicker was still gone

After reboot screen flickers. If I change the resolution and change it back, it stops flicker. I tried to install Win7 drivers for the monitor, and Win7 still calls it a "Display Device" rather than Dell2007FPb. It does not allow the full native resolution. I think it is a problem with the Dell Drivers for Win7.

I would Do ranger4 suggested and check the dell support site for drivers
